nuclear power is the best energy

ĐỀ 08-09-2013
Nuclear power is considered to be roughly the best energy compared with other energy sources to meet growing energy demand in the world. Do you agree or disagree?

Pros
- mass produced
- cleaner and reduce the amount of CO2 released
- cheaper
- save the exploitation of other natural resources
Cons
- expensive in the construction
- require high expertise
- risky in case of accidents

Nuclear power is often used in developed countries. Some people believe that compared with other sources, it is the best one in terms of cost-effectiveness while others claim that it is extremely dangerous in case of nuclear leakage or explosion. I partly agree with the statement for the following reasons.

It is, first, argued that nuclear energy is mass produced. Solar or wind energy which is derived from natural resources proves limited while nuclear energy is created in great quantities by applying high technology. Nevertheless,so as to build nuclear power plants demands a great amount of time and effort. It is estimated to take more than a decade to finish a plant whereas governments, at the same time, put all effort in training experts to run it. High technology and expertise are required in the completion of nuclear power plants, in other words.

Second, the belief is that this source reduces the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere in comparison with its counter-part and saves the exploitation of other natural resources. According to scientific statistics, the rate of carbon dioxide discharged from burning waste and hydro power is ten times as high as that from nuclear energy. Besides, once nuclear power dominates, there is no need for governments to try to make use of other limited natural resources like wind, solar or water. Yet, in case of unwanted accidents, risks caused by nuclear explosion are far more hazardous. Chernobyl in Russia is a telling example. Thousands of people suffered respiration problems while the next generation were faced with birth defects. Environmentally speaking, the entire area near the explosion was submerged into radioactivity environment, leaving people unable to live.

In brief, nuclear energy has its both pros and cons. Depending on economic condition and long-term plans of each nation, government can use it or apply others to meet the demand of their citizens.

which areas witness the most significant development and which areas witness the least significant development?

ĐỀ 06-04-2013
A hundred years ago, people think that human race is steadily improving in every area of life. Now it seems this is not certain in that situation. In which areas do you think we have made important progress nowadays? In which areas do you think we still need to make progress?

PROS
Health care- cure diseases
Technology-transform people’s lives
CONS
Environment- natural disaster
Business ethics

Countries all over the world have seen leaps in different areas. The most significant change for the better is seen in technology while environment is still a matter of major concern. My essay will state the most developing field and the least one that needs actions.

Technology and health care have been revolutionized amazingly. Only by a simple click can the entire world be seen in front of eyes from communication to online learning systems. Besides, no longer do women have to do drudgery work with the appearance of washing machine while they can bury themselves in hours of automatic massage device. In addition, the past was fraught with diseases that took lives of millions of people like small pox, cancer and others, but these have been gone for good as a result of medical innovations that slow down diseases and immunize people against these menaces. Furthermore, by dint of better health-care system, the rate of diseases is minimized and people are able to live longer up to 20 years older, according to a recent demographic study.

On the other hand, there are areas that draw great attention from people. Specifically, environment, despite several efforts by governments, still stagnates. In developing countries in which their economy booms at a staggering speed, such concerns as dust, traffic congestion and noise pollution drive people crazy and result in a higher number of people suffering respiration diseases. Meanwhile, global warming and greenhouse effect still occur in developed nations, although they are past the stage of overheating growth. Hence, it is time that the whole world cooperated in the war against environmental threat by coming up with international environment treaty to limit the amount of waste and educate citizens to protect their surrounding. Business ethic is also worthy of mention. Along with higher income and living standards, people can afford better physical lives, at the expense of their morality. It is hard to conclude that what the exact way is to purify business environment which is inherently complicated and competitively unfair. My suggestion is that governments should introduce business ethics as a compulsory subject at school, and at the same time, impose harsh punishment on any action of cheating customers, exaggerating quality and organizational embezzlement.

What is an ideal society ?

ĐỀ 21/9/2013
Throughout history, people have dreamed about perfect society, but they have not agreed what an ideal society is . What do you think the most important elements to have perfect society in modern world? how people can achieve an ideal society?

Elements
- equality
- no war
- no economic financial crisis
- enough food and good health
To achieve
- work hard
- live within moral boundaries
- restrain endless greed

Utopian societies are often contemplated by idealists, and some countries in the world have succeeded in building them. In my view, to reach the stage of so-called perfect society, there are several necessary elements required, and my essay will discuss factors and ways to obtain such societies for good.

Looking back on the past, we all know how painful people were in the struggle against natural disasters. There were millions of people dying within seconds, but no sooner does prediction department of the earth come into being than humans suffer less and avoid the most damaging consequences. Another reason that drives the world crazy until today is the lack of equality in treatment in certain parts of the world and groups of people. History has shown that the black and white killed each other because the former received the worst treatment like animals from the latter. Until now, cases of women being physically and mentally abused in work places are seen. Only when people learn to treat each other with equal respect can we attain an ideal society, I believe. Furthermore, people's ceaseless and endless greed to have more money and re-order the world have been main culprits of devastating this peaceful planet- the Earth. From the first, second to nuclear wars, millions of deaths have been recorded, and what is the meaning of having a bigger land at the expense of human suffering? Currently, to maximize profit, people have rushed into housing and stock markets, followed by a series of crisis as well. In other words, the best world is built upon equality, no war and no financial meltdown.

The question is how to obtain such a goal? Individually speaking, each person should lead himself or herself in a life within boundary. Imagine that if we all try to defeat each other for economic living, can we all survive and enjoy sustainable development? While working hard to earn our living, we need to know that our winning should be gained as long as others can win. From the early childhood, my recommendation is that children should be brought up with the idea of balancing their soul and restraining their greed. Parents, beside encouraging to gain knowledge and skills to be independent, teach them moral lessons about life, humanity and interdependence as well. Politically speaking, it is time that governments around the world sit in one table to discuss clear-cut solutions to put an end to their wars, conflicts and other international concerns. Is it worth for these governments to harbor hatred against each other and go into the war, but see their normal citizens lose their lives for them? At the same time, for those countries which already reach the utopian period like North Eastern Europe, please pay more attention to the third-world by popularizing their country model and sponsoring these poor nations with medical and educational help.

In brief, we all crave for an ideal society, but we all know that it is still a long way to go. Let's take action to build such a society on the basis of discussed principles, including, integrity, morality, equality and win-win thinking.

Effects of travelling to visit other countries

ĐỀ 20/10/2012
Today, people become easier and it is more affordable to visit other countries. Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

POSITIVE
+ enrich knowledge
+ discover new market
+ entertain themselves
+ tourism development

NEGATIVE
+ waste of money, spend money doing other useful things
+ health concerns: epidemics
+ loss of cultural identity
+ safety
+ illegal immigration

Travelling gains its popularity, undeniably. Some people think that it is a sign of fast development of countries while others believe that there are more pains than gains behind this trend. I partly agree with the former statement.

On one hand, this activity bestows several benefits on individuals and nations. First of all, by travelling, people can enrich their knowledge through the discovery of new places, people and cultures while they can spread their quintessence to host countries. Economically speaking, tourism business benefits greatly with the number of visitors increasing annually and finding this activity affordable. In return, though travellers spend a certain amount of money on their services, they tap into new markets and come up with new ideas to do businesses in these new nations as well. Basically, after long days of assiduity, the idea of traveling satiates people who get bored with mundane tasks, stress and deadlines.

On the other hand, there are risks involved in the escalating number of visitors to other nations. For instance, if they travel to places of low security, their lives are put at risk. One of my close friends lost his life while visiting Thailand in a bloody strike. Natural disasters endanger visitors’ destinies, too. Facts have shown that thousands of visitors, during their relaxation hours at Indonesian and Indian beaches were swept away in the wake of Tsunami. Besides, surveys indicate that there are an increasing number of people suffering chance of avian flu and other epidemics in their visits to tropical areas. Travelling, in other words, contributes to intensifying plagues. Traditionalists are also concerned about loss of cultural identify after realizing that children seem to fall in love with new cultures, instead of trying to learn the old value. Authorities, at the same time, find it unbearable when some people attempt to have illegal immigrationthrough travelling.

In brief, there are pros and cons when more and more people visit other countries. The most important thing is that while enjoying their holidays, visitors should be well aware of potential menaces.
